Electronics Campout – Jan 29-31

Registration for the January campout has been officially opened. It will be held at Hoover Forest preserve and is the electronics campout. The date is Jan 29-31 and the cost will be 25.00.

Due to high demand and limited space this campout is first come first serve and the scout must be current in all dues through December.

December Cabin Camp – Camp Betz

The campout for December will be a cabin campout, the dates will be December 11-13. Space is limited so please sign up right away if you are interested. We will be traveling to Camp Betz in Berrian Springs, MI. The cost for this campout will be 30.00. Please pay at the next Troop meeting or via Paypal under the “About Troop 83″ link on the website.

Thanksgiving Camp

Reserve your spot now!! Thanksgiving Camping weekend will be November 20-22 at Rainbow Scout Reservation. If you haven’t already experienced a Thanksgiving feast outside while camping, now is the time.

Do you know of a Webelos scout that will be crossing over soon? Invite them along to see what it’s like to be in Boy Scouts at our biggest camping experience all year.

To camp the entire weekend, the cost is $25 per person. If you just want to enjoy the feast on Saturday afternoon the cost is $10.

Inter-Troop Competition

The May campout will be May 1st – 3rd at Van Horne Woods for Intertroop.

Intertroop is a friendly competition between other Plainfield troops on skills the boys have learned. A great time is had by all. Everyone is welcome to attend this weekend including new scouts. The cost for this campout will be $20.00.

Lincoln Pilgrimage

The next campout will be the weekend of April 24-26.

We will be traveling to Sprinfield, Il for Lincoln’s Pilgrimage. The cost of this campout will be $50.00 due to numerous activities planned. Extra money may be required for an additional activity and food. There is also an option to preorder a t-shirt for $12.00 please see me for that information.

We will not arrive home until 4-5pm on Sunday so please plan accordingly. The online paypal button is now up on the site for the registration fee only. Feel free to use that as an option to pay. Space is limited so please sign up early.

2nd Summer Camp Option

There is an option to attend a 2nd summer camp this year. The option is July 5th – July 11th at Canyon Camp near Rockford, IL. The final cost for camp will be determined based on number of scouts attending and the transportation needs to be provided.

Schedule of payments are listed below:
$50 by March 24th
$50 by April 14th
$100 by May 12th
Remainder of the balance due before leaving for camp – date to be deteremined.

Summer Camp 2015

Registration is now open for summer camp.

We are traveling to camp Tommahawk in Birchwood, WI June 20th-27th. In order to reserve your spot, a $50 deposit is required. The final cost for camp will be determined based on number of scouts attending and the transportation needs to be provided.

Starve Rock Camp – - March 27th

The campout out for March will be at Starved Rock State Park. We will be leaving on March 27 and will return on March 29. The cost for the campout is $20 per person. You can sign up at the meetings or via paypal.

2015 Fundraising

Annual Butter Braid fundraiser has begun. Orders are due back on March 17th and the product will be delivered on March 31st. Please be sure you are able to pickup your fundraiser on that night as the pastries are frozen.

Candy bar sales have also begun. Boxes can be picked up on Tuesday Feb 17th. The deposit required is $30 per box and you sell the bars for $2 each with a profit of $30 a box. Deposit can be made via cash, check or PayPal (link under About Troop 83 heading).

Cascade Mountain – Ski Trip

The next campout will be a cabin campout paired with skiing on Feb. 20-22. The boys will be staying at Glaciers Edge Camp and the traveling to Cascade Mountain on Sat for skiing in Portage, WI. The final price will vary depending on how many people go and which option is selected. The price for camping will include a Cracker Barrel Friday evening and breakfast on Sat and Sunday. The prices are as follows (all Paypal buttons setup and ready for use):

Camping – $28.00
Lift ticket – $49.00
Ski rental or snowboard – $34.00
Helmet – $8.00
Learn to turn package- group ski lesson with lift ticket/rental/helmet – $89.00

In addition to these cost they will be eating on the slopes Sat. And dinner will be on the way back to the cabin so extra money will be required for eating. The campout is limited to the first 12 scouts to sign up. Any questions feel free to email me.
